Notes:

Nowadays some people prefer to carpet the full width of the tread, either because of previous damage or the cost of restoring the stair treads. We recommend that a bracket that sits closer on the carpet is more pleasing to the eye, though one can also use Runner brackets with longer fixing screws.

These brackets can still be used with Runner carpets which don't have underlay.
